A fun and festive cocktail for this July 4th weekend. The “True Blue Sparkler”!
Handful of Driscoll’s blueberries (about 10)
10 mint leaves
1 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup *
2 oz premium vodka
1 oz IZZE Sparkling Blackberry soda
Crushed or shaved ice **
Directions: In a tall glass, muddle the blueberries, mint, lime juice and simple syrup. Add the vodka. Top with crushed or shaved ice. Add a splash of the blackberry soda. Stir slightly and garnish with additional mint sprig and 2-3 blueberries.
* Simple Syrup is a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water. For a Skinny version, you can make a sugar-free simple syrup using the same ratio of granulated Splenda to water.
** You can actually make crushed or shaved ice by either wrapping ice cubes in a dish towel and giving it some good whacks with your muddler. Or, if you have a good blender (like a Vitamix), you can make it in a matter of seconds.
We’ll also be making some non-alcoholic versions of these for the kids!

Sounds delicious. IZZE sodas are about the only ones we buy, because they’re not too sweet, so this is a drink I can get behind. Love blueberries, so this will be a hit at our house. Thanks!
Made this as a pre-4th of July drink with family. Delicious! Everyone loved it. I didn’t use crushed ice, but regular ice…It was still very tasty. The blend of ingredients really works! Perfect summer late afternoon drink!
